Employer Incentives

At Empower Us we strive to educate employers on the benefits and programs available to them as well as training support for mutually successful employment.
Tax Credits – An employer may receive tax credits of $1,200 – $9,000 per employed candidate with the Work Opportunity Tax Credit.  For information on how the WOTC tax credits are calculated use the button below.
Paid Training – On a case by case basis, The State of Nevada may offer full or partially paid training for our candidates through an OJT (On the Job) program.
Incentive-Based Employment – This program supports employers who hire and retain eligible individuals in full-time employment (30 hours or more per week) by providing a wage and training subsidy based on the total amount of time the qualified individual remains actively employed.
Upon completion and satisfaction of certain requirements, the employer may receive a wage retention supplement – on average up to $2,000 – payable in four equal increments of $500 after each 30 days of successful employment, up to 120 days. The Employer Agreement outlines the role and responsibility of the employer to the employee and is signed by both the employer and a Nevada Job Connect agency representative.  http://silverstateworks.com/employer_options.php

"Dear Mrs. Cassandra Barcelo, this review is about how manageable and proud you have made yourself by teaching your class of volunteers from your program about outstanding professionalism and employment. As much as your students have made effort by working together as a team to learn new things and make money. With their teamwork, the more they learned, the more the program got more and more exciting and achieving. The program's job coach who made it all possible, Mrs. Cassandra Barcelo taught her students how to apply for jobs and ride the city bus and paratransit. I would like to thank Mrs. Cassandra Barcelo and her program."

"Rachel's Mom's Review: My daughter, Rachel has been with Mrs. Barcelo's CCSD/PACE Program for the past three years and has experienced tremendous growth in her behavior and in acquiring job skills. Mrs. B. was also instrumental in encouraging my husband and I to seek an updated diagnosis for Rachel's disability. Rachel is currently employed in a CCSD cafeteria and has gained the confidence and skill to operate the cash register. It has been a blessing to find someone who cares so passionately for her students/clients like Cassandra Barcelo! "

"Cassandra was put in our path through Vocational Rehab. I was very impressed with her experience and knowledge, it showed as I watched her work with my son. My son is a very unique young man. She took her time in getting to know him and his likes and dislikes to place him in an appropriate position that he would like and enjoy. As a parent I greatly appreciate that."

"I want to thank you and your job development company for helping my grandson David find a job that he loves. He had been with a different development company for almost a year and nothing had come up for him. But, when he was introduced to you, you listened to him about his passion for working with metal. You took his hobby, created a portfolio showing his accomplishments, and went seeking a job for him. It was amazingly fast that David was going to an interview with his portfolio in hand and reporting back to me that he had the job. He is so working hard to do well and we have high hopes for his future. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!"

I feel that communication is not barrier because Priscilla is willing interpreter for interview. She was really prepared to see me before interview make sure I understand all of those. I think deaf community should ask for help and communication access. I don't have to worry about asking interpreter for 42 or 24 hours ahead of time. Priscilla is wonderful job to help deaf people anything they need their help. I feel better when she was helping me to do paper works. I am really enjoyed working with you.
